Tecnópolis is a public park devoted to science, technology and art. It is in Villa Martelli, in the Vicente López district, just across Avenida General Paz from the city of Buenos Aires. It does not open all year: it runs in seasons, and the grounds are also used for concerts, festivals and fairs. Before planning a visit, check the park’s official channels to make sure it is open on your date.
A family outing
Most visitors are families with children, and the site is large, with a lot of walking.
- Child seats: request them when booking and give each child’s age.
- Pushchair: it travels folded in the boot. With a pushchair and several children, a minivan is the better choice.
- Return time: tired children rarely keep to a fixed hour. You can leave an estimated time and confirm by message shortly before.
Entrances and meeting point
The park has more than one entrance and not all are open every day. The driver drops you at whichever is in use. At weekends and during the winter school holidays cars queue at the gates, so for the return we agree a spot slightly away from the entrance.
Concerts and festivals
On those nights Tecnópolis works like a stadium: a large crowd leaving together, after dark, beside General Paz. A booked return with a place and time agreed beforehand is worth having.
For other outings with children, see Temaikén and family parks.
