Two airports serve the coast of Chubut province: Trelew and Puerto Madryn. They are in different cities joined by Ruta 3, and both are used by visitors heading for Península Valdés. Check which one is on your ticket before you book, because the transfer is very different in each case. Availability in the region is confirmed when booking.
How the two airports differ
Trelew has traditionally had more flights. It is the convenient one for Trelew itself, the Welsh-heritage town of Gaiman, Rawson and Playa Unión. If you land there and stay in Puerto Madryn, expect an intercity drive north.
Puerto Madryn’s own airport is a short ride from the town and its seafront hotels, with fewer flights. Check current schedules for your dates.
Meeting your driver
- Book with the flight number, the airport and your destination.
- Driver and vehicle details arrive before the trip.
- The flight is followed by its number, and the driver waits in arrivals with a name sign.
Onward trips
- Puerto Pirámides, the village inside Península Valdés.
- Punta Tombo, the penguin colony south of Trelew.
- The cruise pier in Puerto Madryn, for passengers joining or leaving a ship.
Season and vehicle
Spring is the busiest period, when whales and penguins are both present. A sedan carries up to 3 passengers; families and groups should ask for a minivan or an 8-seat van.

Yes. Give us both flights and we plan each leg.
Is a late arrival in Trelew a problem?
No. The pick-up follows the real landing time. For a very late flight, staying in Trelew or Puerto Madryn before going on to Puerto Pirámides is often more comfortable.
Do you carry wheelchairs?
A folded wheelchair is carried. Tell us in advance so the right vehicle is sent.
