Private transfer Neuquén – Villa Pehuenia

Villa Pehuenia is a small lakeside village in the Andes of Neuquén province, on Lake Aluminé, surrounded by araucaria forest and close to the Chilean border. It has no airport, so visitors fly to Neuquén and face a long drive, first across the plateau and then into the mountains. We arrange that drive as a private door-to-door transfer; availability in the region is confirmed when booking.

The road in two parts

• Neuquén to Zapala. Ruta 22 across open, windy plateau.
• Zapala to the village. Mountain roads. The shorter way, through Primeros Pinos, has gravel sections and can be difficult or closed by snow in winter. The other, through Aluminé, is longer.

Which one is used depends on road conditions, checked before every trip. Services are scarce after Zapala, so that is where the meal and fuel stop is made.

When people travel

Summer, in January and February, for the lake and the beaches. Winter for the snow. Demand peaks in both, and since the trip takes the vehicle for the whole day it is worth booking well ahead.

Each direction is quoted separately. If you are staying a few days, book the return in the same request and tell us whether you are staying in Villa Pehuenia or in Moquehue, the neighbouring village.

Vehicle

On a drive this long, room matters. A sedan for up to 3 passengers with ordinary luggage; a minivan or an 8-seat van for families or anyone carrying snow or fishing gear. Arriving by air, you can start from Neuquén Airport.
