Silvio Pettirossi International Airport is Paraguay’s main air gateway. It is not in Asunción itself but in Luque, a city in the metropolitan area north-east of the centre. From here we arrange private transfers to the capital, to other parts of Paraguay and to the Argentine side of the border.
Meeting your driver
When you book, send the flight number and the number of passengers and suitcases. The flight is followed by its number, so a delay does not leave you without a car. Your driver waits in arrivals with a sign showing your name, and you receive the driver and vehicle details before the trip. Availability of the service in Asunción is confirmed at booking.
Where people go from the airport
- Asunción. The historic centre and the hotel and office district of Villa Morra. At peak hours traffic between Luque and the capital is slow.
- Nearby. San Lorenzo, Luque and San Bernardino on Lake Ypacaraí, which is popular in summer.
- Elsewhere in Paraguay. Encarnación and Ciudad del Este, both drives of several hours.
- Argentina. Clorinda and Formosa, with a border crossing on the way, as described under Formosa – Asunción.
If you are still weighing up taxis, ride apps and buses, our guide on getting from Asunción airport to town covers each option.
If you continue to Argentina
The Puerto Falcón crossing has its own queue, and we do not promise a crossing time. Each passenger shows their own document. Requirements depend on nationality and should be checked with each country’s migration authority.

Frequently asked questions
Which vehicle should five of us with suitcases book?
A minivan, which takes 6–7 passengers. A sedan takes up to 3 and a van 8.
Do you also do transfers to the airport for a departing flight?
Yes. We agree the pick-up time with a margin for traffic and, if you are coming from Argentina, for the border.
Can I ask for a baby seat?
Yes. Tell us the child's age when you book.
