The Perito Moreno Glacier is in Los Glaciares National Park, west of El Calafate, at the end of a paved road. Most visitors need a return trip with waiting time: the driver takes your group to the walkways, waits while you visit and brings you back. We arrange this as a private service; availability is confirmed when booking.
Planning the visit
Decide first what you want to do at the glacier, because it sets the length of the day:
- Walkways only. A network of paths and stairs facing the ice front, walked at your own pace.
- Walkways plus a boat trip towards the ice wall.
- Guided ice trekking, a longer activity.
Boat trips and trekking are run by separate operators and booked by you. We fit the car to their times.
On the way
The park entrance is on the road, and each visitor pays the entry fee there; it is not part of the transfer. Inside the park the road winds along the lake shore and gives a first distant view of the glacier before the car park. Photo stops are possible if you ask in advance.
When to go and what to wear
In summer the middle of the day is the busiest. With your own vehicle you can leave early or stay late. It is colder and windier at the ice than in town, and the weather turns quickly, so bring a waterproof layer. Families and groups can ask for a minivan; the waiting arrangement works like a driver by the hour.

Frequently asked questions
Is the park ticket included in the price?
No. Each visitor buys it at the entrance. Check the current fee and accepted payment methods with the park before you go.
Can the driver stay as long as we like?
The waiting time is agreed before the trip. If you may want longer, say so when booking.
Is the glacier open in winter?
Yes, it is visited all year. With snow or ice the drive is slower, and road conditions are checked beforehand.
