Private transfer – El Calafate Airport (FTE)

Price on request: we reply with the final price for your date.

El Calafate Airport lies east of the town, close to the shore of Lago Argentino, in Santa Cruz province. Travellers use it for the Perito Moreno glacier and for El Chaltén, which has no airport of its own. We arrange a private transfer from arrivals; availability in the region is confirmed when booking.

Where you can go from the terminal

  • El Calafate town: the short hop to hotels in the centre, on the lakefront or on the outskirts.
  • El Chaltén: the airport is on the Ruta 40 side of town, so the car can head north without entering El Calafate. Many trekkers travel on straight after landing.
  • Perito Moreno Glacier: usually a day visit from your accommodation, not from the plane.
  • Chile (Puerto Natales, Torres del Paine): this involves a land border crossing. Availability of the route and documents are confirmed when booking.

Arrival step by step

  1. Send your flight number, destination and number of passengers.
  2. Driver and vehicle details reach you before the trip.
  3. The flight is followed by its number, and your driver waits in arrivals with a name sign.

Trekking gear and vehicle size

Expedition backpacks, poles and boots take more room than a normal suitcase. A sedan suits up to 3 passengers with ordinary luggage. For bulky gear or more people, ask for a minivan or an 8-seat van.

Frequently asked questions

Can I go straight from the airport to El Chaltén?

Yes, without passing through El Calafate. If your flight lands late, we discuss with you whether to leave the same evening or the next morning.

What if wind delays my flight?

The pick-up follows the real arrival, because the flight is tracked by its number. If the flight is cancelled, message us.

Can you take us back to the airport from El Chaltén?

Yes. We suggest the departure time when we confirm, allowing for the long road.
