Price on request: we reply with the final price for your date.

Cerro Castor is the ski resort for Ushuaia, north-east of the town along Ruta 3. Most skiers stay in town and travel up each morning, so the usual request is a return trip: out early, back when the lifts close. We arrange it for your group only; availability is confirmed when booking.

A typical ski day

  • Morning: pick-up at your accommodation at the agreed time, drop-off at the resort base.
  • Afternoon: pick-up at the base at the time set in advance. Message us in good time if you want to change it.

If you ski several days in a row, we can set the same times for each day.

Winter driving

Ruta 3 is paved and runs through mountain valleys. Snow and ice on the surface are normal in the season, roughly late June to early October, and the drive is taken slowly. Conditions are checked before every departure, and we tell you if there is a closure or delay.

Gear

Tell us whether you bring your own skis or boards and how many bags. Equipment can be rented at the base; rental, lift passes and lessons are bought by you at the resort. With your own gear, or more than 3 people, a minivan is the practical choice.

Combining with other plans

Winter centres with cross-country skiing and sled dogs lie along the same road, and a stop can be planned. For arrival day, see Ushuaia Airport and Port.

Frequently asked questions

Does the driver wait at the resort all day?

It can be one service with waiting or two separate transfers. We quote whichever suits the hours you plan to ski.

What happens if the road is closed by snow?

We let you know as soon as we do and rearrange the trip with you.

Can non-skiers come along?

Yes, as long as there are seats. Check with the resort what is open to visitors without a lift pass.
