Private transfer Posadas – Encarnación

Posadas and Encarnación face each other across the Paraná river, with a single bridge between them. The drive is short and urban. How long it really takes is decided by the queue at the border control, which can be long at this crossing. A private transfer does not skip that queue, but it takes you door to door with your suitcases staying in the car.

Ways to cross

• International local bus. The low-cost option. Passengers get off for the migration check and board again.
• Train over the bridge. A passenger service has run between the two ends of the bridge: check on the day whether it is operating.
• Taxi. Agree beforehand whether the fare includes waiting at the border.
• Private transfer. One vehicle for your group, with the pick-up time and address fixed in advance.

If you travel without luggage and only need to get to the other side, the bus or the train is usually enough. A car with a driver earns its place when there are suitcases, children, older passengers or a connection to protect.

• To link Posadas airport or bus terminal with a hotel in Encarnación.
• To continue from Encarnación into the interior of Paraguay.
• To go to the beaches or the carnival and come back at night.
• For a shopping trip with an agreed return.

The control on the bridge

The San Roque González de Santa Cruz bridge has a control at each end: exit from one country, entry to the other. Every passenger shows their own document. Weekends, public holidays and summer bring more people. We do not promise a crossing time, and whether the service is available, and on what conditions, is confirmed at booking.
