Mar del Plata Airport lies north-west of the city, beside Ruta 2, the motorway from Buenos Aires. It serves the main seaside city of Buenos Aires province and the smaller resorts either side of it. We arrange the private transfer from arrivals to your hotel or flat; availability in the region is confirmed when booking.
A long city
Mar del Plata stretches along the coast and the airport is at one end. La Perla and the centre are on the near side; the port, Punta Mogotes and the southern beaches are on the far side. In January and February the seafront roads are slow, so give us the exact address and we plan the timing around it.
Beyond the city
- Santa Clara del Mar: north, close to the airport.
- Chapadmalal and Miramar: south, through or round Mar del Plata.
- Sierra de los Padres and Balcarce: inland.

Book with your flight number and address. Driver and vehicle details reach you before the trip. The flight is followed by its number, and your driver waits in arrivals with a sign showing your name.
Season and luggage
Summer and long weekends bring a surge in demand, so book early for those dates. Outside them the city is quieter and hosts conferences and events. A sedan carries up to 3 passengers with suitcases; families with pushchairs and beach gear do better with a minivan or an 8-seat van. Child seats on request.
