Day trip to Asunción with driver

Asunción is a spread-out capital: the sights, the business district and the lakeside towns are far apart, and the heat makes walking between them hard. With a driver at your disposal for the day, you set the itinerary, the driver takes you from one place to the next and waits at each stop. You can start in Asunción itself, or cross from Clorinda or Formosa in the morning.

What fits into a day

• The historic centre. Palacio de López, the seat of government, the Pantheon of Heroes, the Casa de la Independencia and the promenade along the bay are close to one another.
• Villa Morra. Shopping centres, offices and restaurants: where meetings and shopping usually happen.
• Out of town. Luque, with its filigree jewellers and instrument makers; Areguá, a potters’ town on Lake Ypacaraí; and San Bernardino, the summer resort on the same lake.

All of it will not fit. Pick two blocks and leave slack between them, because traffic is slow at peak hours.

How it works

1. You tell us the plan: addresses, fixed times, number of passengers.
2. We confirm availability and send a quote for the day or by the hour.
3. On the day, your driver collects you at the hotel, at the airport or at the address you give in Argentina.

The driver drives and waits, and is not a tour guide. Museum tickets and meals are your own expense.

If you come from Argentina

A same-day return means passing twice through Clorinda – Puerto Falcón. The afternoon queue cannot be predicted and we do not promise a crossing time, so it is wise to start back in daylight. Each passenger carries their own valid document. Requirements depend on nationality and should be checked with each country’s migration authority.

Weather and weekdays

In summer the heat in Asunción is intense, so keep the walking for the morning. On Sundays the centre is very quiet and a number of places close. Confirm the opening days of anything you want to visit.
