Private transfer from Buenos Aires to Mar de las Pampas

Mar de las Pampas is a small village inside a pine forest on the Atlantic, just south of Villa Gesell in Buenos Aires province. It was laid out as a place to slow down: sand streets, cabins and small inns among the trees, and a compact timber-built centre that you walk around. A private transfer takes you from your hotel or the airport to the door of your accommodation without changing vehicles.

What to expect

This is not a warm-water beach. The sea is cool and it is often windy; people come for the forest, the quiet, the tea rooms and the small restaurants. Most visitors are Argentine couples and families. It is full in January and February and also busy on long weekends and during the winter school holidays.

No car needed once you are there

The village is small and much of the accommodation is within walking distance of the centre and the beach. Many guests prefer to arrive with a driver, spend their days on foot or by bicycle, and go back with a transfer already booked.

The road

You leave Buenos Aires on Autovía 2 as far as the town of Dolores. From there the way continues on provincial roads to the coast and on past the turning for Villa Gesell. It is several hours of driving, and a break on the way can be arranged when booking. If you arrive by plane, the driver waits in arrivals at Ezeiza or Aeroparque with a name sign.

Finding your cabin

The streets wind through the forest and have little lighting. Send us the name of the inn or complex, not only the street. If your host shared a map location, forward it. Tell us the check-in time so we can set the departure.

Vehicle

A sedan is enough for a couple. A family with suitcases and a pushchair has more room in a minivan. If you would rather stay in a livelier town, see neighbouring Villa Gesell.
