Posadas, the capital of Misiones, sits at the opposite end of the province from Puerto Iguazú, on the Paraná river. The two are joined by Ruta Nacional 12, a road of hills and bends that passes through a string of small towns. Most of the road has one lane in each direction and carries a lot of lorries, so the pace is set by the road and not by the schedule. In the hot months storms can be heavy and slow everything down. If a flight follows, leave a wide margin.
