Retiro is the main long-distance bus terminal of Buenos Aires. Services from all over Argentina and from neighbouring countries start and end here, and the building stands right beside the Retiro railway stations, in one of the busiest traffic areas of the city.
Arriving by bus
The terminal is large, with many platforms on more than one level, and at certain hours it is crowded. That is why the meeting point is agreed by message, with a precise reference.
- Book with the name of the bus company, the city you are coming from and the scheduled arrival time.
- You receive the driver and vehicle details and the meeting point.
- When the bus enters the city, write in the booking chat: bus arrival times are approximate.
Leaving from Retiro
The platform is usually announced shortly before departure, so plan to be there as early as the bus company recommends on your ticket. Tell us that time and where you are leaving from. At peak times the streets around the terminal are heavily congested.
Where to from the terminal
- Aeroparque, which is close by, or Ezeiza, outside the city.
- Hotels and apartments in any neighbourhood.
- The cruise terminal or the ferry terminals for Uruguay.
- Towns in Greater Buenos Aires.
Luggage and vehicle
Long-distance bus passengers often carry large bags, boxes or backpacks. Tell us how many pieces you have. Up to 3 passengers travel in a sedan; a family with a lot of luggage is better off in a minivan.
