Getting from Córdoba Airport (COR) to town

Team at LatamTransfer ·

Córdoba is Argentina’s second city and the gateway to its most visited hill country. The airport (COR), still called Pajas Blancas by locals, is on the northern edge of the city. Two kinds of traveller use it: those who come for work or study and head into the city, and those on holiday who go on to the sierras without ever seeing the centre.

If you are going into the city

Córdoba is large and traffic matters. The ride to the centre, or to Nueva Córdoba, the student and hotel district beside it, crosses a good part of the urban area, and it shows at the morning and evening peaks.

  • Taxi and remis. Both are at the terminal. Taxis use the meter. A remis is a car with a driver booked at a desk for an agreed fare.
  • Ride-hailing apps. They operate in the city. The app shows the pick-up point.
  • Bus. Check on arrival whether a service runs between the airport and the centre, and how you pay.
  • Private transfer. One vehicle for you or your group, with the driver waiting in arrivals.

If you are going to the sierras

The ring road, Avenida de Circunvalación, goes round the city, so a trip to the hills does not need to pass through the centre.

  • Villa Carlos Paz and the Punilla valley. West and north-west: Cosquín, La Falda, La Cumbre.
  • Calamuchita. South-west: Alta Gracia, Villa General Belgrano, Santa Rosa.
  • Sierras Chicas. Río Ceballos and Unquillo are on the same northern side as the airport.

Long-distance buses to these towns leave from the city bus terminal, which means going into the centre first with your bags. A hire car is useful for moving between villages. A direct transfer skips the city altogether.

Dates worth booking ahead

  • Summer, January above all, when the Cosquín folk festival takes place.
  • October in Villa General Belgrano, for Oktoberfest.
  • Easter week and long weekends.

On those days the hill roads are busy, especially on the Sunday return.

Where a private transfer fits

On business trips with a tight schedule and an invoice for the company, and on family trips straight to the sierras. The price is per vehicle and agreed beforehand. Availability in Córdoba is confirmed when you book. See also the page on Córdoba Airport.
