A student arriving alone in a new country, after a long flight and often without a local phone line, needs to know who is waiting. With a booked transfer, the family and the programme know the driver’s name and the vehicle in advance.
Who makes the booking
The booking can be made by the student, by parents abroad, by the university, by the exchange programme or by the host family. Whoever books receives the driver and vehicle details before the trip and can forward them to anyone who needs them. We answer messages in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian.
What the arrival looks like
- We follow the flight by its number, so a delay changes nothing for the student.
- The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign showing the student’s name.
- The driver loads the luggage and goes straight to the address given: a student residence, a flat or a host family’s home.
If the student will have no mobile data on landing, it helps to write down the driver’s name and the meeting point before boarding.
What we need to know
- The student’s name as it appears on the flight booking.
- Age. If the student is under age and travelling without an adult, tell us: the conditions for that case are confirmed at booking.
- The destination address and a phone number for whoever receives the student.
- The number of suitcases. For a semester there are usually more than for a holiday.
During the stay
The trip back to the airport at the end of the programme is booked the same way. For group outings, the price is per vehicle, whether one person travels or several classmates. The steps are on the how to book page.
