For an older traveller, the hard part of a transfer is usually everything around the ride: walking with suitcases, queuing for a taxi, getting into a car in a hurry. A booked private transfer removes those parts: the driver waits, handles the luggage and takes you door to door.
What a booking changes
- At the airport, the driver waits inside the arrivals hall with a sign showing the passenger’s name.
- The driver takes care of the suitcases and walks with the passenger to the vehicle.
- The ride is direct and the vehicle is not shared with other passengers.
- On long trips you can ask for stops to rest or use a toilet.
What to tell us when booking
- Whether the passenger uses a walking stick, a walker or a wheelchair. Folded wheelchairs and walkers travel in the boot.
- Whether a high vehicle is hard to climb into, or the front seat is preferred. We take that into account when choosing the vehicle.
- Whether an adapted vehicle is needed so the passenger can stay seated in their own chair. Ask us before booking, because this is not our standard service.
- A relative’s phone number, as well as the passenger’s.
Inside the airport
Assistance inside the terminal, such as a wheelchair from the aircraft, is requested from the airline and does not depend on us. If the passenger comes out with assistance staff, let us know: the driver waits in the usual place and follows the flight by its number.
Bookings are often made by a son, daughter or grandchild in another country. In that case the driver and vehicle details go to the person who booked and, if you wish, to the passenger as well. The steps are on the how to book page.
