Private transfer from Buenos Aires to San Isidro

San Isidro lies in the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires, on the Río de la Plata. Its old quarter stands on the bluffs above the river, with a cathedral, historic houses and tree-lined streets, and around it are residential areas, offices and clubs. The drive from the city is short, so the time of day matters more than the distance.

• A half-day outing: the neo-Gothic cathedral and Plaza Mitre, which hosts a craft fair at weekends; the Museo Pueyrredón and Quinta Los Ombúes; Villa Ocampo, in neighbouring Beccar.

Two ways to get there

The Panamericana motorway is quicker when traffic allows. Avenida del Libertador is slower and more pleasant, running through Vicente López, Olivos and Martínez. If you are out for the day and prefer the second, ask when booking.

Worth knowing

At peak times the Panamericana is heavy towards the city in the morning and northbound in the evening. For a meeting or a court hearing, tell us when you need to be there.

The streets of the old quarter are narrow and some are cobbled. At weekends, with the fair on, stopping in front of the square is difficult: the driver drops you a few metres away and you walk the rest.

How to book it

One way, a return at fixed times, or a return with the driver waiting. To carry on to Tigre the same day, a car with driver by the hour is the comfortable option. A sedan takes up to 3 passengers; a group going to an event needs a minivan or a van.
