Private transfer Córdoba – Capilla del Monte

Capilla del Monte stands at the northern end of the Punilla valley, at the foot of Cerro Uritorco. It is the furthest of the valley towns from Córdoba city, and people go for much the same reasons: to climb the mountain, to see rock formations such as Los Terrones and El Zapato, or to spend a few days in a town with a reputation for the mystical.

If you plan to climb Uritorco

The ascent is a long, demanding walk that takes most of the day. Access to the trail is controlled: you register, pay an entry fee, and there is a cut-off time for starting the climb. Check the current conditions before travelling; the fee is yours to pay.

Going there and back from Córdoba on the same day therefore means leaving before dawn. The more comfortable plan is:

1. Transfer to Capilla del Monte the day before.
2. A night in town and an early start, before the heat.
3. Return to Córdoba that afternoon or the next day, at an agreed time.

If you are sightseeing

For Los Terrones, El Zapato and the town centre with its roofed street, one day with a driver and waiting is enough. The road into Los Terrones is gravel; tell us if you want to include it.

The road

You travel by motorway to Carlos Paz and then on Ruta Nacional 38 through the other valley towns, among them La Falda and La Cumbre. In summer and on long weekends traffic inside the valley is slow.

We can also collect you straight from Córdoba airport. With large rucksacks and more than 3 people, ask for a minivan.
