La Cumbrecita is a pedestrian village high in the Sierras Grandes: day visitors leave their vehicle at the entrance and go everywhere on foot. That shapes the transfer. We take you to the village entrance, and from there you walk among alpine-style houses, woodland and streams.
The road from Córdoba
The first part follows Ruta Provincial 5 to Villa General Belgrano. From there a paved mountain road with many bends climbs to La Cumbrecita. Progress is slow, and it is better not to travel on a tight schedule.
In winter there can be frost, ice and the occasional snowfall. Road conditions are checked before departure.
If you go for the day
- Leave Córdoba early to make use of the morning up there.
- The driver drops you at the entrance and waits at the car park.
- You explore the village, the waterfall and the paths at your own pace.
- You return to the meeting point at the agreed time.
Wear comfortable shoes and bring a warm layer: it is cooler up there than in the city.
If you are staying in the village
Ask your accommodation how arrival with luggage works, as each one explains what is allowed and at what time. Pass that on to us and we coordinate the arrival. Bring luggage that is easy to carry in case part of the way has to be walked.
On long weekends, in summer and during the July holidays the village is crowded and there are delays at the entrance.
