Arriving in Buenos Aires at night: your options

Team at LatamTransfer ·

A large share of long-haul flights lands at Ezeiza late at night or before dawn. Arriving at that hour has one clear advantage, an empty road into the city, and one drawback: fewer services are running and you are in no mood to improvise after many hours in the air. Here is what really operates and what is worth settling before you take off.

What runs at night

  • Official taxi and remis desks. They are in the Ezeiza arrivals hall and are staffed when flights come in. You pay at the desk, at a price set by destination zone.
  • Taxis. Aeroparque has a rank in front of the terminal. At night the meter runs at a higher rate.
  • Ride-hailing apps. They work, with fewer cars around in the small hours. When several flights land together, the price rises and the wait grows. More in apps at the airports.
  • Airport buses and city buses. At night they run rarely or not at all. Check the timetable on the operator’s site before relying on them, and think about how you continue from the final stop.
  • Private transfer. Booked before you travel. The driver follows your flight by its number and waits in arrivals with a sign showing your name.

What is different at that hour

  • Money. Exchange counters may be closed. Cash machines stay available, but it is calmer to have the ride already agreed or a card you know works. See our guide to currency exchange and payments.
  • Connection. SIM stands may be unattended. Use the airport Wi-Fi or arrive with an eSIM already active.
  • Accommodation. Hotels have a night reception. For a rented apartment, arrange the key handover in advance around the real arrival time.
  • Offers in the hall. With fewer people about, anyone approaching to offer a car stands out. Walk on to the desk or to your driver.

How to decide

  1. Alone, with little luggage and the app already set up: an app car or the official desk will do.
  2. A family, a group or many suitcases: booking ahead avoids splitting into two cars at that hour.
  3. First time in the country, or no Spanish: having someone waiting makes the arrival simpler.

If you land at Aeroparque

Aeroparque is inside the city and the ride to a hotel is short. At night the taxi rank and the apps are usually enough; a booked transfer makes more sense with children or a lot of luggage.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to leave Ezeiza in the small hours?

Yes, with an identified service: the official desk, an app or a booked transfer. Do not get into cars offered in the hall.

Is there public transport from Ezeiza at night?

It is very limited and impractical with suitcases. Check current timetables before counting on it.

What if my flight arrives much later than scheduled?

With a booked transfer, the driver follows the flight by its number and adjusts. If the delay is very long, send us a message.
