Bombinhas is a small peninsula on the coast of Santa Catarina, with clear, calm water spread over several bays. Nearly everyone arrives by road, and from Buenos Aires that means a long journey in stages that ends on a narrow access road, very busy in summer. Whether the route is available, and on what conditions, is confirmed at booking.
What is particular about it
Bombas, Bombinhas, Mariscal and Quatro Ilhas are separate beaches within one municipality, and they are not all close to each other. Accommodation is mostly houses, guesthouses and apartments. The quiet sea attracts families with children, and also people who snorkel and dive. Send us the exact address and the name of the beach.
The way onto the peninsula
You leave the BR-101 highway and enter through the town of Porto Belo. In high season this final stretch fills up, above all on the days when rentals change over. The arrival time is therefore planned backwards: first when it is sensible to drive in, then when to leave the last stop.
The trip from Buenos Aires
The road is the same as to Florianópolis: Ruta Nacional 14, the border at Paso de los Libres or Santo Tomé, Rio Grande do Sul, then north along the coast. Nights on the way are agreed with the quote. For a couple with little luggage it is usually quicker to fly to Navegantes or Florianópolis and continue by road.
Border and documents
Each passenger crosses with a valid travel document; which one is accepted depends on nationality and must be checked with the migration authority of both countries. Minors without both parents usually need an authorisation. Queues grow in summer and we do not promise a crossing time.
