Two places, two kinds of arrival

Garopaba is a small town with a centre, shops and a town beach: the vehicle reaches the door without difficulty. Praia do Rosa belongs to the neighbouring municipality of Imbituba and is different. Its guesthouses are scattered over the hills, along narrow lanes with slopes and unpaved stretches. Send us the exact location so we can see beforehand how far the vehicle can go.

Boards and equipment

If you bring surfboards, tell us how many and how long they are. That decides the vehicle:

• a sedan, for up to 3 passengers with ordinary luggage;
• a minivan, for 6 or 7 people or a small group with bulky gear;
• a van, for up to 8.

The road

Ruta Nacional 14 to the border, the crossing at Paso de los Libres or Santo Tomé, across Rio Grande do Sul and then north on the BR-101 highway to the turn-off for the coast. The trip is planned with stops and nights on the way, agreed with the quote. For a few people, flying to Florianópolis and continuing by road is usually quicker.

Documents and the border

Requirements depend on each passenger’s nationality and must be checked with the migration authority of Argentina and of Brazil. Everyone crosses with their own valid document. The wait at the border varies by day and season; we do not promise a crossing time.
