Private transfer Posadas – Santa Catarina beaches

From Posadas the beaches of Santa Catarina are much closer than from Buenos Aires, which is why so many families from Misiones and north-eastern Argentina make this trip every summer. With a driver you leave very early and, depending on the beach, arrive the same day or after a night on the way. Whether the route is available, and on what conditions, is confirmed at booking.

Where the border is crossed

The usual way is across Misiones on Ruta Nacional 14, through the hills around Oberá, to Bernardo de Irigoyen, entering Brazil at Dionísio Cerqueira. It is a dry border with no bridge. Details are in Bernardo de Irigoyen – Dionísio Cerqueira. Depending on the date and the destination, the crossing at Santo Tomé may be the better choice; that is decided at booking.

On the other side: from the hills to the sea

You cross the whole of Santa Catarina, west to east. The BR-282 highway runs to Florianópolis; for Balneário Camboriú, Itapema or Bombinhas, drivers usually come down through the Blumenau valley. Much of this is single carriageway through hills, with many trucks. Travel is not fast, and daylight is preferable.

• Florianópolis: the part of the island matters, because local traffic is slow in summer.
• Balneário Camboriú: give us the name of the building.
• Bombinhas: the access to the peninsula is busy on changeover days.
• Garopaba and Praia do Rosa: south of the island, with difficult lanes at Rosa.

January and February

In high season the queue at Bernardo de Irigoyen grows a lot, above all at weekends. We do not promise a crossing time. Leaving before dawn on a weekday helps.

Documents

Every passenger needs a valid travel document; which one is accepted depends on nationality and must be checked with the migration authority of both countries. Minors without both parents usually need an authorisation.
