Córdoba is Argentina’s second city, and it is a long way from Buenos Aires. The road is motorway from start to finish, yet the drive still takes most of a day. It is fair to say so at the outset: flying is faster, and people who choose a private transfer do it for other reasons.
When going by road makes sense
- Families and groups who fill a minivan or a van and want to travel together.
- Travellers with a lot of luggage, instruments, work equipment or trade-fair material.
- Anyone travelling with a pet, with advance notice.
- Trips with stops: Rosario, another town on the way, or a destination in the hills.
- People who prefer not to fly.
The alternatives: plane and coach
Flights between Buenos Aires and Córdoba are frequent, and for one person with little luggage they are usually the logical choice. Long-distance buses cover the route overnight and arrive at the bus terminal. A private transfer does not compete with the plane on speed. What it gives you is door-to-door travel, your own timetable and one vehicle for the whole party.
How a drive this long is planned
- You send us the date, the addresses, the number of passengers and the luggage.
- We agree the departure time. Leaving before dawn or very early means arriving in daylight.
- We set the stops for meals, fuel and a stretch.
On a route of this length the driver’s rest is part of the plan. Depending on the timing, the trip can be organised with longer stops or split into two legs; this is confirmed when you book.
If you are heading for the hills
Many passengers are not going to the city itself but to Villa Carlos Paz, the Punilla valley or Calamuchita. Give us the exact final address: the last stretch runs on hill roads, slower than the motorway. To choose between a sedan, a minivan and a van, see the vehicles page.

Frequently asked questions
Is it better to reach Córdoba by car or by plane?
Alone and with little luggage, the plane is faster. A private car suits groups, people with a lot of luggage or pets, and anyone who needs to make stops.
Is the trip done in one go?
It is done with rest stops. If the timing calls for it, it can be split into two legs; we settle that with you when booking.
Can you take us to a town in the hills?
Yes. Send the exact address and we confirm availability and the quote for that destination.
