Connecting between Ezeiza and Aeroparque: how much time to allow

Team at LatamTransfer ·

Ezeiza and Aeroparque are not linked airside or by rail. Changing from one to the other means entering Argentina, crossing the metropolitan area by motorway and checking in again. So the useful question is not how long the drive takes but what all the stages add up to. Below we take them one at a time so that you can work out your own margin.

Four stages to add together

  1. From touchdown to the exit door. The aircraft taxis, you disembark, clear immigration, wait for your bags and pass customs. This is the least predictable stage, because it depends on how many flights landed at the same time.
  2. The road between the airports. It follows the Riccheri motorway and then either the General Paz ring road or the motorways through the city. There are tolls. At peak hours, in rain or when a road is blocked, the drive stretches a great deal.
  3. Check-in closing at the second airport. Each airline sets its own deadline for passengers and bags. For an international flight it is earlier than for a domestic one.
  4. A cushion in case the first flight is late. Almost nobody counts it, and it is what ruins most connections.

What makes a connection tight

  • Tickets bought separately. If you miss the second flight, that airline has no duty to rebook you. On a single ticket, ask the airline what gap it requires and whether bags must be checked in again.
  • The direction. Landing at Ezeiza and leaving from Aeroparque includes immigration and customs. The other way round, international departure controls ask you to be there earlier.
  • The time of day. Working-day mornings and late afternoons carry the heaviest traffic.
  • Luggage and group size. More bags and more people mean more time at every step.

Ways to make the transfer

  • Desk taxi or remis: arranged as you come out; there may be a queue.
  • Ride-hailing app: depends on the cars available and on the pick-up point.
  • Inter-airport bus: where a service is running it keeps a fixed timetable, so it does not suit a short gap.
  • Private transfer: the driver waits with a name sign and knows both flight times. This is the service described on our Ezeiza to Aeroparque transfer page.

If the gap is too short

Before you buy, check whether the second flight can leave from the airport you arrive at: some domestic flights operate from Ezeiza. If not, the calm solution is a night in Buenos Aires and a flight the next day. For that case, see how to get from Aeroparque to the city centre.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a train or internal bus between Ezeiza and Aeroparque?

There is no internal link between the terminals. The transfer is made on public roads after you leave the first airport.

Do I have to collect my bags at Ezeiza?

In the great majority of cases yes, and check them in again at Aeroparque. Confirm with your airline.

What do you need to know for a connection transfer?

Both flight numbers and the number of passengers and bags. With that we will tell you frankly whether the gap looks reasonable to us.
