Most departures from Ezeiza are international flights, and the airport lies outside the city of Buenos Aires. To arrive without a rush you need three things: follow the flight status by its number, know which terminal it leaves from, and plan when to leave your home or hotel from the airline’s deadline rather than the take-off time. This page does not show live flight data: it explains where to find it and how to use it.
How to check Ezeiza departures
Keep the flight number from your booking to hand: the airline code followed by a number. With it, check:
- the airline’s app, which also alerts you to changes of time or gate if you switch on notifications;
- the official website or app of the airport operator, with its departures list;
- the screens in the terminal once you arrive.
Look at the status the evening before and again before you set off. If your flight is shared between two airlines, it may appear under several numbers: search for the one on your ticket and note which airline operates the flight, as that is the one handling check-in.
Which terminal your flight leaves from
Ezeiza has more than one departures building: at present domestic flights leave from Terminal C and international flights generally from the departures terminal. The layout has changed several times, so confirm it on the ticket or in the airline’s app. Pass it on to the driver when you book. How the terminals are laid out is covered in our guide to Ezeiza terminals.
What the airline decides
Each airline sets the time until which its desks accept passengers and bags, and when boarding closes. Online check-in saves a step, but if you have a suitcase to check you still have to go to the desk. Then come security and emigration control, with queues that depend on how many flights leave around the same time.
When to leave for Ezeiza
Work backwards: the airline’s deadline, minus the drive, minus a margin. The road to Ezeiza is a motorway, and how long it takes varies a great deal with the day and the hour. Several long-haul flights leave in the afternoon or evening, just when traffic is heading out of the city. The factors that stretch the drive are covered in how early to leave for the airport.
If the flight is delayed or cancelled
The airline informs you through its app, by email or by text message. A delay announced early can shrink again, so do not change your departure time until the airline confirms it. If the reporting time changes or the flight is cancelled, message the driver so the pick-up can be rearranged.
