How to get from Ezeiza Airport to downtown Buenos Aires

Team at LatamTransfer ·

Ezeiza lies outside the city, in Buenos Aires province, and there is no train or metro station at the terminal, so every trip downtown goes by motorway. You have five ways to make it, and they differ in cost, comfort and how much you need to sort out after a long flight. This guide compares them without quoting fares, because prices in Argentina change often, and tells you how to confirm each detail on the day.

Your five options

  • Taxi or remis from the official desks. The desks are in the arrivals hall. You give your destination, pay at the desk and are assigned a car. The fare is fixed by destination zone. No booking is needed, though queues form when several flights land together.
  • Ride-hailing apps. Uber, Cabify and DiDi show the price before you confirm. You need mobile data and a payment method set up in the app. The app decides the pick-up point, which may be some way from the terminal door. See our guide to apps at the airports.
  • Airport bus or shuttle. Priced per person, it runs to a terminal in the city and you continue from there on your own. It suits a solo traveller with little luggage. Operators, stops and frequency change, so confirm them at the desk.
  • City bus. The lowest-cost and slowest choice. It stops often, has no room for large suitcases and is paid with a SUBE card or another accepted electronic method, not in cash.
  • Pre-booked private transfer. A driver waits in arrivals with a name sign and takes you to your door. The price is per vehicle and agreed before the trip.

What the journey depends on

The usual road is the Riccheri motorway followed by the 25 de Mayo motorway, both with tolls. On working days traffic into the city is heavy in the morning, and heavy in the other direction in the late afternoon. Rain, an accident or the start of a long weekend can change everything. That is why we give no fixed journey time. Open a maps app as you leave customs and you will see the real picture.

How to decide

  • Alone, with a backpack and no hurry: airport bus or city bus.
  • Two or three people with suitcases: a desk taxi or remis, an app or a private transfer. Compare the final price, tolls included.
  • A family with small children: ask about a child seat before you choose. A taxi taken on the spot will not normally have one.
  • More than four passengers: you will not fit in a standard car. You need a minivan or two cars.
  • First visit or a landing in the small hours: it helps to have the ride settled before you take off.

Where a private transfer fits

It is not the right answer for everyone. It makes sense when you want to walk out of the terminal knowing who is waiting, what you will pay and that the vehicle is big enough for your group and bags. That is how our Ezeiza transfer works: we follow the flight by its number and send you the driver’s details before the trip.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a train or metro from Ezeiza to the centre?

There is no station at the terminals. The trip is made by road, by car or by bus.

What is the lowest-cost way to reach the centre?

The city bus. In exchange it takes much longer and is awkward with large suitcases.

Should I book ahead or decide on arrival?

Travelling alone in daytime, you can decide on arrival. With a group, children, a lot of luggage or a night landing, booking ahead removes the waiting and the guesswork.

Are tolls included in the price?

It depends on the service. Ask at the desk or when you request a quote, before you get in.
