Las Leñas is a ski resort in the Andes in the far south of Mendoza province, in the Malargüe district. From the provincial capital it is the longest transfer in the province: it takes up a good part of the day and ends on a mountain road that carries snow in winter.
The route
You travel south, pass the San Rafael area and continue on Ruta Nacional 40. The final stretch is Ruta Provincial 222, which climbs through Los Molles to the resort.
In season that access road can have snow or ice, chains can be required and a storm sometimes closes it. Road conditions are checked before departure. If it is closed, the driver waits or the schedule changes: we do not promise an arrival time.
What to settle when booking
- Number of passengers and suitcases, plus skis or boards if you bring your own gear.
- Departure time. It pays to leave early and drive the mountain section in daylight.
- Stops for meals and rest.
- The return date, which is booked as a separate transfer.
Vehicle and luggage
Ski equipment takes a lot of room. A group of 4 with bags and boards needs a minivan or a van; larger groups travel in two vehicles together.
Other ways to get there
Malargüe and San Rafael have airports that are closer, with few flights. If you find a ticket to either, the road section becomes much shorter.

Frequently asked questions
Do you run this transfer outside the ski season?
Ask us for your date. Availability is confirmed when booking.
What if the access road is closed by snow?
The driver waits until it reopens, or we agree another time with you. We follow road conditions from before departure.
Can you collect us at Mendoza airport and continue straight on?
Yes, provided the flight lands early enough to drive the mountain section in daylight. Send us the flight time.
