Mendoza and San Juan are the capitals of two neighbouring provinces, joined directly by Ruta Nacional 40. The road runs north over flat, dry country with long stretches between towns. Many people make this trip for work, and it is simplest done door to door.

How it is organised
We collect you from your home, hotel or Mendoza airport and take you to the address you give. For a meeting, the driver can wait and bring you back: tell us roughly how long it will last and we include it in the quote. Companies can ask for an invoice.
Things to consider
- Summer is very hot. If you can choose, travel early in the day.
- At the boundary between the two provinces there is a plant-health checkpoint that may inspect the vehicle. Avoid carrying fresh fruit and check the current rules.
- San Juan has its own airport, with fewer flights. Compare before buying your ticket.
- The parks in the interior of San Juan province, such as Ischigualasto, are a long way from the capital. That trip is quoted separately.
