Private transfer Mendoza – San Rafael

San Rafael is the main city in the south of Mendoza province and the base for the Atuel Canyon. From the provincial capital it is a long drive: south on Ruta Nacional 40, past the Uco Valley, then on Ruta Nacional 143 across open country with few services along the way.

How the trip is organised

The transfer is door to door, from your hotel in Mendoza or from the airport. On a run of this length it is worth asking for a stop to stretch your legs and have a coffee; we agree it when you book.

Going and returning in one day is possible but leaves little time there. Most people stay a night or more and book the return for another date. If you want to tour the canyon in the same vehicle, ask for a driver by the day: part of the circuit is gravel and it takes a good part of the day.

• San Rafael has its own airport, with fewer flights than Mendoza. Compare both options before buying your ticket.
